Got me a few of the New Washinton Dollar Coins today
 

Knock'em all you want. I dig them... I'll collect the set. I pretty much like all US coins....

Edge wording is pretty cool and I really like the Reverse...

I will admit the color is a tad funny though... I read its supposed to be the same planchete as the SACs, but its not quite as gold or yellowish as the SACs... Also, if you look at them in different angles, they look like they are silver with a thin gold coat...

I haven't seen any yet. The edge wording in the first pic I liked (reminded me of a silver 1 oz Libertad), but the rest of the coin didn't really do much for me. How large are they? Say, relative to a quarter or half dollar... and thickness? I never liked the Sacagawea coins because of how the color seemed to rub right off. I did and do like the Susan B. Anthonys, though.

How did you get them so fast? www.usmint.gov has them releasing Feb. 15th.

They are the exact same size and thickness as the Sacagaweas... They are supposed to be made from the same planchets, but the color is slightley different though...

I wish they would just Ball Up and make another "Silver Dollar" sized Dollar coin, Like the Morgans, Peace or maybe the IKEs... Even if it was clad and not 90%.... I'd get my paycheck in those and spend them everywhere...

A friend over on cointalk.org somehow got a roll or 6 of them from a friend in the banking industry and he sent me a few... Both are from the Denver (D) mint... No (P) or (S) yet...

Actually, the (S)s or Proofs are going to be delayed... The mint is supposed to start selling them on the 15th, but they aren't, they are only going to release the UnCirculated in Rolls and Bags....

The reason is they are having big problems with the edge lettering on the Proofs...

You'll still be able to sign up for a yearly subscription of them and they'll send them when they are ready each year...

The edges are going to be mauled if they are circulated.

I think these coins will be a flop.

We don't need more dead presidents on coins.
